Unless I've been up late struggling to keep my eyes open then I too have to read for a while before getting to sleep.
Always like to take a nice cup of tea to bed too!

I cant go to sleep until I read a book...Find some good books rather than 'old rubbish'. And dont eat an apple (it can wake u more than caffeine) or drink coffee before bed....

Reading can make me sleepy, but I normally manage to fall asleep within 20 minutes without having to read.

Reading the Bible would be good too. Most of the time I just say a little prayer for you, for me and the whole humanity.
Secondly, I read some gardening books. It's refreshing.

I seem to be one of those lucky people who get to count the sheep before dropping off....and sometimes the cows, horses and other farm animals too!
I spent years doing a job requiring odd work patterns, frequently with 24hr call out, up 2 or 3 times a night every night for days or weeks!
basically it screwed me up and now i sleep when i need to and the normal 8 hours at night becomes 3, 5,12,4,5,9........catching up with the occasional 'crash'. i sleep when i'm tired, at normal nights i stare at the darkness! Its Fun..........try it sometime

Nobody falls asleep immediately. Try listening to some relaxing music or drinking some warm milk.

I sleep like a log..... as soon as my head touches the pillow I'm in another world! ( No i'm not on anything at all !! ) I just think tht if you try & keep your stress levels down & get done anything that has to be done before bedtime then you will be able to sleep soundly & wake up refreshed. Nite nite I'm off now
