In this day and age few people are sure about what they want to do for the rest of their life. There are so many choices and opportunities.
I think you'll need to go and try out different things. Life has a funny way of working out in one way or another.
Enjoy!

I just did several months ago and I am turning 30. I graduated 8 yrs ago and had many jobs during those years. This time I like the job but unfortunately the coworkers are difficult to deal with.
Several months ago I started my home business and will keep my job until at least end of this month. I like what I'm doing and it pays me more than monthly salary ever does. I wish I knew earlier that having a career will not give me as much freedom and satisfaction a business can.
Good luck, I hope you find your path someday

Many people truly don't know what they want to do when they graduate from college, unfortunately.
You may never have a career plan that excites you! Some people are just that way.
At this point, my advice to you is: Just select a field that halfway appeals to you, based upon your major, and get a job in that field.
Make a career of it, unless somehow you figure out the career that excites you!!!! Stick with it, and do the best job you can, unless you hate or tremendously dislike it.
Money is money, and everyone needs it. We need it in order to live, and want it to be happier and provide a good life for our immediate family.
Don't dwell on the fact that it may not be the job that you wanted to excite you and do for the rest of your life! Most people never find that!
Good luck!

Let's see, I am 39 and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
I am currently on my second career so remember that just because you start in one field doesn't mean you have to stay there for the rest of your life. I spent 9 years in the military and have been a contractor for 8. I am actually thinking about going into teaching or psych child development in the near future. Never stop learning and never stop searching for the perfect fit.

I'm still in highschool, and I knew what I wanted to do since I was 12 but it doesn't mean everyone should have to know. I am working on my lifes proffession now, and trying to get a book published. I have a back up plan of course and am going to university to train in teaching. Just because you may feel like you don't know where your going doesn't mean you need to rush. Just take everything one step at a time and wait for some type of insperation to jump out at you. That's what I did and I'm really happy with the way things are going for me. When you realize what you want to do you will know. Good luck, and best wishes.

I was 21; but life often throws us curves. I changed careers when I reached my 40's. I think the important thing in life (as I'm finally learning) is to do what you love; but more importantly love those close to you more and in the end it won't matter so much what you did; but who you loved. The earlier you can learn this the better. On the academic side there are companies that will offer internships. That gives you a chance to try something out. Search the internet for "internships".

I enjoyed/suffered through one career for 15 years. After a year off I started another although somewhat similar to the first. Last fall I finally started school to do what I have dreamed of all my life and I am much busier and happier than I have been in years!! I am so blessed with a great husband and wonderful kids that are encouraging me to follow my dreams at the tender age of 43.

you may never know what you want to do. i changed my major a few times in college but eventually went back to what i had considered doing since grade school.
after 15 yrs in the field i am getting a masters in something totally different while still working in my original field of study. as you age and evolve you may find new interests. just try to do something you would enjoy doing every day and if that gets old don't be afraid to try new things or seek out new and better opportunities. the world IS your oyster...
