the pain's not that bad. I had my nose pierced 3 days ago. the pain is only there about the first 5 seconds that they pierce it. I paid 30 bucks for mine. but make sure that you go to a clean tattoo parlor. you dont want them to infect it. but other than that it doesn't hurt that much. i'd say about a 5.

everyone saying "don't do it" - you aren't being helpful. She didn't ask for your opinion on that, she's already made that decicion.
1)How do they do it?
This varies from place to place, the most common two ways are via needle or gun. Needle is by far the best way, guns are not designed for the nose so if the place you go to is goign to use this method, say no!
2)Does it Hurt?
Yes. Any piercing you get will hurt, how much? that depends on your pain threshold. Some people say it doesn't hurt hardly at all, others say it was extremely painful...it is supposedly no worse than your ears, if you have had your ears pierced you'll have an idea.
3)How much does it cost?
This widely varies from place to place, Most studios will have a pricelist you can look at before you decide. Don't feel presured into it if it;s too expensive for you.

Hi, I got mine done when I was 14 and it didn't hurt! I am scared of needles and things like that but honestly getting my nose pierced was a breeze. First you sit down and they sterilize everything, make sure they use an autoclave or else do not trust the piercer. Just ask! Then they put a clamp on your nose so that they do not get the main blood vessel in your nose (that is the most pain you will feel...pressure, thatz all!) then they stick the needle through your nose then they follow it by the nose stud you chose. That's it! I just felt a little pressure in my nose and I had one tear roll down my left cheek, but honestly it was nothing, and after I got ice cream at my favourite place!! I paid 40$ in downtown Toronto, Eaton's Centre. Do not let them use an ear piercing gun, it could shatter your cartlidge. Also remember the nose stud is put in at an angle to ensure that it stays in. No backing is necessary! Just remember to clean it daily!
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Best advice look up piercing shops in your area go in a research...does the store look clean, does the piercer look educated on piercings, honestly if a nose piercing is more than 50 bucks u are being jacked and dumb enough to pay for it, pain is only measured by the person..piercings don't hurt me, but they could make u black out, you need to figure out ur own level of pain to see if it's worth it, plus if u can handle the healing process and following directions to have a well helaed piercing:)

It hurts a little more than an ear piercing (I'd say a 5). I was anemic, so mine bled a bit. They first clean your nostril, they mark it w/a marker for you to see what placement you like. Then they pierce you and follow it w/the stud and coil it so that it's not sticking out of your nose.
I just got it in May 06, but I love it. I paid $25 for the piercing, but $125 for the stud in NYC. and I waited until I was in my 40s to do it, too!

It hurts about 1.5 to 2 out of ten. About the same as piercing your ears.

I would say dont do it. I got my stomach pierced and it was great, if I put a bar in it it looks fine and if i dont, the huge hole can be covered with a top. You will ALWAYS have to wear a stud because the hole will be so obvious if you dont because its on your face. You also are stuck with it for the rest of your life - if you stop using it again a hole will be visible.
