I don't know of any state in the US that does not have "Domestic Violence" laws, so the answer is most likely yes. The laws do not care what the sex of the victim is, violence is violence! He does need to call the police though and file a report, because in most states to get an Order of Protection during a divorce it requires grounds for such a filing.

A woman who suffers years of abuse and toryure is no different than someone who has been kidnapped or a soldier who sees ungodly things in battle. They all suffer from PTSD (Psot Traumatic Stress Disorder). Our society will give help to the kidnap victim, we are now giving help to the Vietnam vets, why will we punish a woman who has been abused for many years. I can tell you that as a victim of DV over a period of only 5 years, I still have nightmares, I live under the constant scrutiny of my ex even though we are divorced and have been for over 2 years. I cry a lot. I am still abused by him. I have suffered physically due to his abuse and will eventually suffer more because the abuse caused a long term, uncurable health problem. Eventually I will lose the use of my hand. I am not even 40 now and I only have about 40% use right now. The silent victims in this scenario are the children. They see the father/abuser getting away with the violence. They se ethe mother as the unstable one because she is upset and cries or she is covered in bruises. They learn to abuse or to take abuse. If not for the victim then for the victim children.

Yes he has rights its called domestic violence, he probably doesn't want to press charges because she can be charged with criminal domestic violence. You should take a picture of it in case something else happens.

Of course he has rights, thats considered domestic violence, and SHE was the aggresor. In the State of Texas, the decision of filing a complaint depended on the victim. It was till recent years, that the state starting proscecuting regardless if the victim decided to/or not too.....Now the state prosecutes. Remember
this is in Texas.

The same rights that apply to a female who is being abused in a relationship are the same for a male. She can be arrested and spend time in jail for her actions. And he should call the police and have her arrested. All individuals need to keep their hands to themselves. Violence is never the answer or the solution to any problem. Good luck and God bless****

Yeah, the man and woman have the same rights as far abuse goes. I seen on TV a man saying his wife beats him up all the time, threw through plate glass window and scared to go home.
That is so wrong if I was that man, I leave her real fast like..
I could see myself with my ex husband trying to beat him up why he would put me back in the hospital, where he put me without me raising a hand, I left to and got a DIVORCE.

He has rights... but to get them, he has to enforce them.... domestic violence isn't just about females.... it's about domestic violence...

And really, there's nothing you can do for him if he isn't ready to do anything himself... Be there for him.... he sounds like he'll be needing friends....
