It is an Automatic gear car, 1998. I couldn't move the gear to 'NEUTRAL' when I stop at the traffic light.

Is this the gear box problem or is it just the electronic problem?

As for your tach problem, it sounds like your idle is set too high. About your shifting problem, you should probably have it checked out by your dealer or favorite mechanic. Good luck!!

either your tach is broken or your car is idling at 2000 rpms which isnt good, cause the usual idle for a car is about 600-800 rpms. have both checked out at a reliable dealer or mechanic.

Sounds to me like an electrical problem. Unless you just need it fixed, it shouldn't affect your driving. If you were driving a manual, it would be a different story. I would probably take it a Honda dealership, althought, I drive domestics.
