I've had a couple of pap tests come back abnormal. The reason was an infection. After antibiotics cleared things up, I've had no further problems.

I don't know what class 2 atypical is. You should be asking your doctor this question.

i had a few abnormal pap tests.. usually end up getting a colposcipy (this is a bit on the painful side but well worth it) mine have always come back negative after the colposcipy but it can be from anything it could be an infection or a build of the "good bacteria" in ur vagina or the "bad bacteria" or if u have been on birth control for a very long time... 2atypical if i remember correctly is a few cells came back abnormal and they just want to check and make sure it's not cervical cancer.. it's routine and most woman will have at least one abnormal pap in their lifetime.. i wouldn't stress it unless the doc things it's something super huge and they will tell u.. they will bring u back for another pelvic in 6 months though just to check things out..

cervical dysplacia is usually a result of having HPV (genital worts)...
having a middle-class abnormal pap means that you can either get better or worse.. if you're a smoker, QUIT!!

nicotine is concentrated in the cervix in females, hence irritating the cervix even more if you have HPV..

you should have a biopsy done (where they take a piece of the infected area and look at it under the microscope) to identify what is causing the abnormal pap....

from there treatment can be discussed.. most common is having cryosurgery, where they freeze the abnormal cells off your cervix... usually the scar tissue that forms afterwards makes it harder to get more abnormal cells again.. but also on the flip side, if you do have abnormal cells again, it will be worse than it is now... and probably harder to get rid of....

if left untreated now and in the future, the abnormal cells will grow and get worse, eventually turning cancerous... and if still left untreated, the cancer will probably spread from your cervix to your other female parts, resulting in a hysterectomy to get rid of the cancer...

I had an abnormal pap smear when I was 6 weeks postpartum. When I was tested again, it was normal. I had a doctor after that who was very particular about when the pap smear was done. He said if it was done during a period or too soon after the birth of a baby, it would cause abnormal results.

Any of countless issues can yield an atypical pap result. it might desire to be something as mundane as a yeast an infection. The colposcopy appointment will tell your record extra. At your colposcopy, the wellness care expert will check out your cervix with a huge magnifiying device and swab your vagina and cervix with vinegar. in the adventure that your wellness care expert sees something atypical, he or she would do a biopsy. the completed colposcopy technique takes a sprint longer than a pap smear yet extremely isn't painful. attempt to not difficulty too lots approximately it for now. i comprehend it somewhat is extra convenient mentioned than achieved.

I had that occur once. I had a polyp in my cervix that was so large it interfered with the test. The polyp was removed and I've had normal paps ever since.

Not sure what "class 2 atypical" means but I'll bet you can look it up online and find plenty of info. Why didn't you ask your doctor this question?
