On Christmas Eve I picked up my niece and newphew and each weight between 60 - 80 lbs. It was not until Christmas Day that my pregnancy test came back positive after almost a week of testing (19 days after conception).

On Dec 30th at night time, I had some dark brown spotting. The next day it continued and went to emerge. My HCG was 368 and the Dr said it was low; however, I could have actually ovulated later and the sperm not meet the egg until quite late therefore making me earlier in my pregnancy than the "almost 6 weeks" according to standard pregnancy calendars.

I only have brown spotting after standing and not if I lay down or sit. I have not soiled any pads. I have an ultrasound appt tomorrow. I had a miscarriage 2.5 yrs ago; however, it was very bloody right away and continued for weeks.

Not sure if I've ruptured and spotting old blood; miscarrying again or normal?

Thanks for your comments!

Ladies... thank you for your feedback and kind words. My HCG's are doubling! So far so good.

Sounds like implantation bleeding to me. I probably wouldn't worry unless the blood turns bright red or pink. Brown blood is old blood and usually not anything to worry about. But I'd definitely mention it when you go back to the doctor. Until then, take it easy, don't lift anything and keep an eye on the color of the blood.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Best of luck to you and your baby!

I think it's very fortunate that it's just brownish spotting, that means that it's not fresh blood. And usually you have to fill a pad for it to be an emergency situation. I would just lay down on my side and drink lots of water and juice, and wait until the ultrasound. It's good you are having one tomorrow, then you can be reassured that everything is ok, and it sounds like it is. Good luck, and take care of yourself!

I had spotting after an ultra sound maybe this could be just the 2 childeren you picked up because you are not allowed to have picked them up. But dont worry i think it is just normal, you can spot for any reason it is normal. I panicked the first time i spotted 2 and everything was ok...

Brown is old blood, maybe from implantation. See your doctor if you have any cramping or bright red bleeding.
