I named my new horse Gunner and my boy friend thinks it is stupid. And he named his new horse PayDirt and I think that name is stupid. What do you think?

A name's a name. It's something to know your horse by and it will usually describe him in some way. Me personally I think Gunnar's a cute name, but PayDirt doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I guess I could see it as a roping horse or a horse doing something with cattle, but thats about all I can see the name fitting.

I think gunner is a very cute name for a western horse and the fact that your user name is cowgirl, I'm assuming you ride western.....As far as paydirt goes, I don't want to offend your boyfriend (or you) but that's just odd and a stupid name. It's one thing if it comes from his bloodline but if he just made it up, gunner is def the better name.

Gunner is okay but there are a lot of them PayDirt pretty cool and a little more original.

I like Gunner better than PayDirt. That name just doesn't seem like a name.

My favorite horse name, is Trigger.

Gunner's okay, but will PayDirt be a rodeo horse? I think that would be a cool name for a rodeo bronc. Maybe it's just me. Gunner is okay if your horse is goosey but whatever you name him, he'll grow into it. Instead of Gunner why don't you name him Pistol? Just an idea.

Gunner sounds sort of military... they call Gunnery Sergeants "Gunny." I like Gunner... I think PayDirt puts too much pressure on a horse to perform, I bet he won't like being called "Dirt."

I would rather name it gunner. Paydirt sounds sort of stupid. It is your decision and personally i would side with you.
