I'm sure they will be. The USPS takes whatever days they can off. The Pony Express was more reliable.

According to their posted schedule, FedEx is open on January second for FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Freight services, but not for FedEx Home Delivery services.
There is nothing on their web site suggesting that they are closing to mourn President Ford. It would have been on the "news" section of their site if they were, and there is no mention of it there.

As a private business as opposed to government, I would bet yes as well as UPS. USPS really needs a day to mourn, NOT.

Yes FedEx is open. If you need to ship something, there are 24 hour FedEx Kinkos stores you can go ahead and take what you want to ship up there today.
