finally i gone wireless, but everyone saying i need to protect my wireless connection?? what do i require for people to stop having access for internet. HAPPY NEW YEAR aswell.

Generally a WEP key is good enough protection. How to set this up varies from router to router, and you're best off googling for how to do it with your specific model and version of windows. I've attached a couple of links to get you started.

Bascially you need to turn on WEP encryption on your router and, assign it a key (best done wired, as you'll lock yourself out else!). Your router manual will help with this.
Then you put that key into the wireless connection settings in windows. (as in the second link)

Sounds simple... But can easily be confusing.
