My plecto always ignores its food and leaves it for the tiger barbs to eat. Should I stop giving it the algae tablets since I don't want my tiger barbs to be overfed? Or should I try a different type of plecto food for it? If so what type of food should I try?

the vast majority of fresh water fish LOVE algae tablets, if your pleco is not eating them then he has enough food growing or you could be feeding in the wrong time of day (feed him at night). Yup, plecos LOVE zuccini in particular, peel it first. Anything you put in a green salad you can throw in your tank.

Zuchinni!

Plecto's love the stuff!

Or you could try eating one of the barbs and see if it intimidates the others!

sometimes you will need to over-feed for the plec to get any food. I feed my gold barbs flakes, and i sometimes put a tablet for my ram - to see if he eats. He was starting to eat it, but the gold barbs also started eating them. So i over-feed a pinch, but my fish are smart enough to stop eating when they are full, not sure about tigers.

they love zuchinni as said before. Along with alot of green vegies. they like to eat at night and they might not eat eth added food because there might be enough algae and stuff growing for him to eat!
