I'm just learning that my great grandmother was full Native American, and her husband was half black and Native American.I have always considered myself black, but I'm just curious to know how much Native blood is in me. And NO I'm not trying to claim anything, or prove anything to anyone. This is just something I need to know for myself...to know who I truly am.

You would be a little over 1/8. Nothing wrong with finding out where you came from. If you did want to do anything related to that part of your family tree you would will need to know what specific tribes you belong to. My Great Grandfather was full Apache, but ran away from home when he was a teen and never talked about it. So we don't know which of the tribes we belong to. Plus 1/8 isn't enough to really 'claim' much of anything. You need to be at least 1/4.

They are things that can only be discovered after hundreds and hundreds of trials. And of course, strict restriction needs to be in place. However, because the basis of science is always changing due to new discoveries, we need to also have sympathy to the drug company as well. They are not miracle makers, they only try to make profits by selling something that they "think" might help other people. Imagine the world without antibiotics and other medication, how many people would have to die? If we agree that science can be changed, the drug company might not have an excuse of increasing medication prices because of law suit. Also if we look at any other area that has used the socialist system it has bogged down and failed to live up to its Utopian promise. No system is perfect but open and free market is the best out there.

well, your if great grandmom was full, and great grandad was half, that would make your grandmother or father 3/4ths, (dont know which relative was their child) then it would depend on who the grandparent married, if they had any native blood in them ,,, if not, i guess you would think of it as half of 3/4ths passed to your parent,,,, 3/8ths,,,, then it would depend on who your parent married, keep in mind that most Americans whose families were here in the 1800's have mixed blood,,,,,, finally, if you felt your one parent married someone with no native blood, you would take half of your parents amount,,, so half of 3/8ths,,,,, or 3/16ths,,, i believe this is how it goes,,,,, you just figure what percentage the parent is,,,(if both parents are part, add the parts together), then,, divide that in half for the child, if both parents are part, say one is half native, the other is 1/4, their children would be 3/4 ths,
but yes, if your greatgrandmother was native, a part of you is native,,,, and sometimes traits /looks/attitude,, gets passed on, no matter what small percentage you are of that blood

hard to say, because your parents fit into the equation too. What difference does it make, the way I see it, you are already more amercan than some lighter skinned person whose grandparent came over from Europe. Be proud of your heritage.

quantum? Quantum is to do with quantum mechanics - the physics of the very small, subatomic particles and such.

If you make yourself a family tree you can work out what fraction native american you are. One parent would make you half something, so a grandparent would only be a quarter - great grandparent 1/8th, the other one half native american so thats 1/16th.

You don't need to know who your family are to know yourself. Good luck.

♥ ♥divide them by half for each generation.. it will also depend on your parents and grandparents that are not in this line.. so the child of you great granmother and her husband would be 1/2 plus 1/4 indian, so just keep figuring it out based on the two parents ♥ ♥
