1) Take the test offered by Mensa and score in the top 2 percentile. Here's an online practice test, so you'll know what to expect:

2) Present Mensa with a record of a past IQ test that put you in the top 2 percentile. There are many different IQ tests, and some are not accepted by Mensa.

The only qualification for Mensa membership is a score in the top 2 percent of the general population on a standardized intelligence test. Mensa Mini Quiz: Sally likes 225 but not 224; she likes 900 but not 800; she likes 144 but not 145. Does Sally like 1,600 or 1,700? Unscramble the letters in the box below and supply the missing letter to make a nine-letter word. O E C I ? O T N B What four-letter word can be placed before each of the words below to make four new words? Hyphenated words are allowed.) HOE LASH HAND WARD If you count from 0 to 100, how many number 7's will you pass en route? (that is, whenever the number '7' appears in any combination) What relationship to you is your father's mother-in-law's only daughter's only child? Only one other word can be made from the letters in the word INSATIABLE. What is that word? You are running a training course. It is a mile long whether you are running uphill or downhill. You jog up the hill at two miles per hour and run down the hill at six miles an hour. What is your average speed for the whole run? Best of luck to you! ☺

Here is the answer that you seek!
Get on the old computer and go to the Google Search engine and
enter www.mensa.org.nz . It will give you all resources for your questions on mensa. The other posibility is to perhaps know or meet another individual in mensa's organization. I met Teresa from New York who is the head of the org there. Good luck!

If your iq is over about 140 (mine sometimes is depending on the test) then you can join by doing MENSA's own test under controlled conditions.

Contact them. In Australia they sent out a test exam so you could decide whether it was worth attending the real one.
I joined, but discontinued my membership cos they were a bunch of idiots (at least, my local group were!)
