They can, but its not idea for them. Try carnivore pellets, pieces of meat (small pieces, cooked or cured), live food, frozen food and freeze dried. Chopped earth worms and sometimes oatmeal. You can hand train these fish. Start by offering food with a multi-tool, when they get use to it, switch to your fingers, its really cool!

Ghost knives are bottom feeders. He will not likely go for flake, even if they sink to the bottom, they will likely just decompose in your water( bad). Try live tubiflex worms, frozen bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp. Vary between these, as variety is healthy.

They are a very picky fish and will not normally eat flakes. Even getting them to eat freeze dried food is very difficult. Frozen or live foods are about all they eat. Maybe pellets if you are very lucky.
