I have a 2002 land rover discovery and I am getting a code P0734 Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio. Does anyone know what that means? I would hate to take it to the shop if it is something I could fix myself, thanks for your help.

Most codes relating to incorrect gear ratio`s mean that the computer see`s a higher than normal rpm for the fact it sees 4th gear commanded and we will say going 60 mph ;and throttle at 25%.in other words something is probably slipping .Example t-converter may not be applying causing rpm`s to be higher than what is normal.

convinced in all probability is your transmission. you could not do lots in case you don't understand the automobile mechanics and don't have a lifter. in case you have the two way coverage only hit your vehicle by objective to a tree or some thing (from front) and make a declare.
