Its common for our police to lie under oath .Since a 1983 supreme court ruling brisco vs lahue that states police are allowed to lie on the stand with immunity from prosecution for doing so .While a defendant if lying or even disputing the statements of police is charged with a felony for perjury .The purpose of our courts is to seek justice (an impartial judgment based on truth fact and reason ).Obviously this is not impartial or based on truth .So the truth is there is no justice in our courts for people Why would police have to lie if the person was guilty or need immunity from prosecution if they didn't lie .Is it any wonder the land of the free has more people in prison than any country in the world

Obviously, since only one side in a trial is telling the truth, yet all witnesses swear an oath to be honest.

They ask you to swear on the bible that you will tell the truth. What if your an atheist?

Basically people will not admit they have committed a crime so really it's expected. Honest Official could be an oxymoron.

I don`t think Bush would, the only reason I think that is because Junior would not answer questions under oath with the 911 commission.

I don't know. I have noticed that an awful lot of people lie about the dumbest things though. I guess they have no pride in themselves.

No, I don't think it is. I think you'd be surprised at how seriously most people take testifying in court. You get it in certain places, domestic violence cases people get scared and testify falsely, but more often charges are dropped.
