These days you load the papers into your vehicle at the warehouse. You are given a territory and you are expected to have finished most of your deliveries by 7 am, 8 am in some rural territories. Most deliveries start at 4 am.

Newspaper home deliveries are all subscriptions and you are paid by the paper or the paper's distributor. The territories are fairly large and the amount of papers is fairly large. I have no idea how much it pays, but I don't think it's a lot.

One thing that is different is that in some cities you may have to deliver two or more papers in your territory. Usually the second paper is a national like the Wall St. Journal or the paper from a nearby city.

I'm not sure but kids aren't allowed to have paper routes anymore.
