Slammin Sammy,I believe he is worth a look.Think of the fans you would draw to see a player reach that kind of milestone, that doesn't happen to often, what is there like 5-6 guys that have hit 600 or more.Yes,I know hes a steroid user, but they all used them,I'd say 75%of the players in the 80's early 90's used some kind of performance enhancing substance. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, that's until Jose Canseco let the cat out of the bag.OK,I'll quit rambling on and on,Give him a performance contract,so much for every thing he does, all professional athletes should have this kind of contract.

Sammy should PAY THE TEAM $500,000 for the privilege! Then after hitting the 12th homer, walk away. The Mets should allow Sammy to do that...the team is mainly Latin anyway.

I would sign him for one peso. I'm a Cub fan and I don't want him screwing things up again. I promise he isnt good enough to carry a team and I don't want him messing things up again. He did his thing in the late 90's and he should of retired, unfortunatly he went down and he took the Cubs with him. I like him for what he did for us in 1998 therefore I hope a Seattle or Tampa Bay or Colorado will pick him up and let him do his thing.

$500,000 which seems to be the going rate, plus a load of incentives for reaching certain plateaus. Sitting at 599, the park would be packed since everyone would want to see him hit no. 600 and hopefully catch it. Financially, he could help at that point.

800,000. He's not in his prime, he's not even half the player he was in his prime. He may have a big ego, but he's a veteran and one of the best sluggers in history, he could be a good influence on some of the younger guys.

I wouldn't sign him, but look for Jim Bowden(Nationals GM) to sign him to a 1 year deal worth like $10M just because of overpaying these days in the MLB. He might play in an independent league if no one signs him.

He should stay retired. He made that decision, and now he should live with it. In fact, there will be very few, if any, teams anxious to sign him.
Chow!!

I dont think any team would sign him for that reason. Why waste money like that? But to sign him for 1 year he would probably get 4 million.
