There is 2.54cm in an inch. So 140cm * 1in/2.54cm = 55.12in.
55.12in * 1 ft/12in = 4.59ft. 0.59ft * 12in/1ft = 7.08in. So this person is actually 4'7" tall.

Hmm, 140 centimeters (1 m 40 cm). There are 2.54 centimeters in an inch. 140 divided by 2.54 is 55.12 inches. Divided by 12, that's 4.59 feet tall.

Also of note is that a meter contains 39.37 inches. I just like to convert centimeters to inches for simplicity.

1 meter = 100 centimeters = 3.28084 feet = 39.3701 inches

1.4 m = 140 cm = 4.593 ft = 55.118 in

4 feet = 4x12 = 48 inches

therefore 140 cm = 4 feet + (55.118 - 48) inches
= 4 feet 7.118 inches (just over 4-foot-7).
