No!!!!!!!!!! Do not have someone come and fix it. You don't want them to find out that you are home alone. That is a very, very bad idea. If you can, board the window up with some wood from your basement, or something. Don't leave the window with nothing convering it, or an intruder might be able to get into your house. DO NOT let ANYONE come to your house and fix it!!!!!!!! I don't want to scare you, but it could happen. Just tell your parents what you did when they come home, they will understand. Offer to pay for it with your own money mabey????
Good Luck, and do not let anyone into your house!

You can measure the window glass area, then stop by or call a glass shop to get an estimate . If you Know someone that is capable of doing this it will be less expensive.By all means tell your parents The truth as to what happened you will feel better about yourself, even if they show displeasment as honesty is the best policy. You parents will appreciate your honesty and be more receptive than you are imaging.

Windows can range from $200-1,500 dollars. If it's an odd shaped or odd sized window it will have to be ordered. The chance of getting someone out to fix it in less than a week is also very unlikely. Your best bet is to through your self on your parents mercy. Sorry.

Do you have an adult with whom you feel comfortable sharing this and who may be able to help you out? Perhaps an aunt or uncle, a grandparent, a close friend of the family, or the parent of one of your friends ... ? It would be best, for your safety, if that is someone who already knows your parents are out of the country.
If it isn't possible to repair the window before your parents return home, your adult family member or friend can help you secure the broken window so that the house is safe (and you are, too). This is very important!
Good luck!

You did fine, it won't be that expensive, RELAX... if all you need is a new pane of glass, $10.... if you don't know how to put it in, wait, your parents can handle that, give them a little credit.
If you need a new frame and glass, it's about $30. No big deal.
Block it up with some plywood and insulation or newpaper to keep the cold out of your basement until they get home.

Just tell your parents what happened, don't try to cover it up. I'm sure they'll be o.k. if you tell them the full factual story. The more lies, the more you have to worry. Some suggestions are offering to pay for it or offering to work for the cost. Just relax, and remember the more lies, the more worry

It being a smaller basement window you could get another for about $200.00 and I do not know what contractors in your area charge but, I would charge about $100.00 to change it.
