Me mum or Gram would take down early under the circumstances.
Mum usually did right after Christmas, both Grans on New Year's day.
Others on or after 12th night.
Under the circumstances, I don't think there is harm in breaking traditions.

Most people believe it's the Twelfth Night, which is the 6th January. Popular thought is that it is unlucky to keep them up after this.
An old English law says that mistletoe, holly, etc, must be taken down by Candlemas - in February.
It is all a matter of taste. Personally, I have got tired of the seasonal holiday by about 2nd Jan, so things come down then.
But - in short - whatever... !

I took mine down the day after Boxing Day - but then I have a six month old kitten whose favourite game was to get in the tree and play with the decorations! By Christmas Eve nearly every branch was broken and I got sick of picking up the baubles and rearranging them!

Hi there
Its bad luck to have your tree and decorations up after the 6th Jan so its OK to take them down now if you want to.

I have always been told that there are 12 days of christmas, so you put your christmas tree and decorations up on christmas eve , and take them down on the 5th january.

Nah, the Easter decorations are still on the Christmas tree. Soon enough it will be time to decorate it with 4th of July decorations.

It is traditional to wait until the Epiphany on the 6 January - the arrival of the Wise Men. However, it's your house, take the tree down when it suits you.

They should be taken down for 12Th night, which I believe is on the 6th January. However, I hate dusty droopy cards and decorations. So I take them all down - all but the door wreath, so I hope avoiding pushing my luck!!!
Happy new year!
