No the US would not benefit by being one nation with Mexico. Have you ever noticed why a city will take in certain parts of a county and ignore the rest? The city only wants what will make income for them re commercial property or property that does not require a lot of funds because they are in good shape. Mexico is an extremely poor country. I have seen heartbreaking poverty and my heart goes out to those people. The US cannot afford to unite with any country that needs that much help. The US needs to address our own needs and stop giving away the future of our children.

Seems a lot of personal feelings getting in the way of answers.
The next thing that bothers me is ''...under god?''. Are you talking banishing alternative religions here?
So one is to assume that north America sees Mexico as a poor and possibly freeloading country. As I am aware both Mexico and the U.S have both wealthy and poor areas of each country. Mexico could be a financially great country with the correct management techniques applied but at what cost? They have a fantastic culture and a strong sense of familiy/friendship. They stay out of international wars and generally keep themselves to themselves. I admit a few probably get into the U.S and don't pull their weight but this happens all over the world. It also happens that Americans (north) escape to Mexico for whatever reason. Either way said people are getting into the others country to benefit from it in some way.
I don't think either would benefit particularly. Mexico would risk losing too much of it's character and culture and the U.S would just have too hard a time dealing with the ways of the people.
As for ''love thy neighbour'' I agree, but you wouldn't invite your neighbour to knock the wall out between your houses and live together would you? The answer lies in respect, tolerance and plain common sense. I don't see that either country is ''too far gone'' anywhere. They both have greatness in very differing ways.

nop dont think so..
we are too different, our values and goals as nations for starters are way to diverse, the culture by itself says it all.
personally I dont think we could benefit at all with that radical solition, cause the U.S. wouldnt understand our problems with the south, and the indigenists laws living together with the mexican laws, however the states will love to get as much opportunity as possible to get more products from us, without actually having to buy them, such as coffe, chocolate, petrol, fruits, natural gas, wood, ETC..
As mexicans we may fantasized with the "american way of life" but we wouldnt trade it for what we have at home, our family and human values are more important then the american philosophy of "its nothing personal, its just bussines". Bussiness will, for sure give you succes and the benefit to call themselves a "first world country" but thats just empty words, it doesnt guarantee any happines or better living, in the "third world of Mexico" we are happier and content knowing that we dont have it all, cause we dont need it, cause money its not everything, we got eachother.
Besides, no mexican would like to jeopardize its culture and traditions by mixing with another country, no señor.
ps we might be poor but we sure did share money for freebie as nation to the New Orleans Katrina Hurricaine, cause appareantly Bush couldnt afford it..

I think the U.S.,Mexico,and Canada should become one nation under God.It could be U.M.C.Then close all borders to the U.M.C.and protect our country. That way it would be easier to protect the U.M.C. from forgin invasion.Pluss U.M.C should just let the other countrys fight there own wars, and feed them selves. In other words.KEEP OUR MONEY BACK HOME WHERE IT WILL BE USED FOR ITS OWN PEOPLE. OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR OTHER NATIONS.BECAUSE THEY ALL HATE EVERYONE THAT ISN'T LIKE THEM.

No. Mexico would stand to benefit and America would be on the losing end of the equation. I know that this is the wish of many, but my view is that it is a horrific idea. We are already paying for the terrible mismanagement of Mexico now. Enough is enough.
