I think from tripping over it and continually taking it in and out, it became loose and wont stay in anymore. At the moment its currenlty held on by an elasticated band wrapped around it and on to my computer. The sellotape idea failed as the heat from my laptop made the stick go! Apparently its expensive as id need a whole new back battery area put it in(according to a friend)..Its just immensly annoying as the second itheres a slight vibration it falls out and the bloody computer starts beeping at me to charge!!!AHHH..anyone have any similar problems or ideason what I can do?! Its a Packard Bell EasyNote laptop and 2 years old..thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Don't know if this will help because I'm not familiar with the EasyNote. But most laptop batteries have some kind of lock mechanism to hold them in place. Maybe a push button or a lever or a clip. (I've never seen a battery held in place by friction only.) So if your laptop has some kind of locking device, perhaps you could wedge something into it to tighten it (toothpick, small piece of cardboard, etc.) If this isn't possible, and if you don't mind the tape issue, you could try an automotive parts store and ask for heat resistant tape that's used around the engine to bind electrical wires. Or muffler tape used to repair holes in mufflers and tailpipes. Both kinds of tape are designed to "keep their stick" in extremely hot conditions (much hotter than your laptop gets.) Sorry I can't be more help. And a Happy New Year right back atcha!
