Sorry everyone, but there are only a few ways to generate popups, and all the popup blockers will stop them like the google and yahoo toolbars, and the option in IE.

Now - the popups you ARE getting are NOT from legit advertisers. You have caught some malware that is generating them to your machine.

You need to get rid of the malware through adaware, superantispyware, and spybot search & destroy. Run them all. Get them all from http://www.download.com

Next, make sure you have an active antivirus (just one) running with all the updates. Boot-Scan your system. If you dont have, get the free avast (http://www.avast.com)

Run free Winpatrol (http://www.winpatrol.com) and disable anything that doesnt belong there in your startup tab. View your HOSTS file to see if you are being redirected.

Run ZoneAlarm (http://www.zonelabs.com) and make sure you only allow specific trusted applications to access the internet.

Make sure you have ALL Microsoft updates - including IE7. Turn on the popup blocker in internet options.

Good Luck!

Pop -ups can be triggered from a variety of means such as with Javascripting so that when the page is loaded, when you leave a page, when you mouse over something, or when you activate something on the page.

The other part of it may be that you have a form of maleware or spyware on your computer that can provide pop-ups even when the computer is not online or when the internet access is turned off.

The first thing I would make sure if that you do a high level deep scan for spyware , viruses, and other maleware issues to ensure that your system is secure.

The next step is to make sure your pop up blocker does not have the site with the pop ups white-listed (read as allowed to happen).

If all these things are set and secure an you still get pop ups I would suggest changing to Firefox with a add on like No-Script that locks down pages from running any type of script.

I have included some links to virus scanners, spyware scanners and the link to firefox.

I t is best to have more than one pop-up blocker (ex. yahoo toolbar and google toolbar) but some popups may still get through by using certain methodes that a popup blocker doesn't see as a popup

Your PC is probably infected with adware. Scan your computer with Spyware Doctor or MalwareBytes anti-malware.
