Add 11.1 with 45 because negative negatives are postives. The answer is 56.1. Then negative it, because rearagne and you will get -45-11.1 and that is negative. The final answer is -56.1.

11.1 & 45 are negative add'em and place - in front of it:
-11.1+-45= -56.1
