Our kitchen sink is clogged and we've tried everything, outside of calling a plumber. I used draino, plunger, kleer drain (uses Co2 cartriges) and a 25' snake. It's still clogged. It's the only thing in our house that is clogged, so I'm guessing the clog is fairly contained. We would really like to fix this ourselves, without hiring a plumber, because of the cost. Someone was telling us you can rent a 150' snake with razors on it. I guess the razors help break up whatever is clogging it. Not sure if this is something we'd want to do or not. Do any of you have any tried and true products or ideas you could suggest? Thanks!

Yes, I've already taken off the U pipe below the sink, it was perfectly clear.

It's hard when you're not sure what is causing the clog. I was in the same situation as you, and as a last result I poured boiling water down the drain continuously through out the day. Eventually, it worked.

As far as the 150' snake NO NO NO.
You do not need anything that long as your pipe run isn't more then 10 ft for a main floor drain.
Have you checked the trap below the sink ( where the pipe comes out of the sink and loops down then goes back up looks like a U) Take this lose and check there this is where most every clog happens for a kitchen sink.

If you have recently put potato peels or carrot peels down your garbage disposal - that is probably the issue. The peels are thin and starchy, so they stick together and clog drains. You can actually put broken glass in a garbage disposal without hurting it, but potato or carrot peels are a no no.

I would take the trap off under the sink to see if the problem is in the bottom of the U.
