Excellent choice for an 8 year old!! My son loved it and wants to go see it again. Very entertaining!!! It may even get he/she interested in some history that they wouldn't have been interested in before. Enjoy.......

Yep, they'll be more then entertained, especially if they are a boy. Lot's of action from the start in the museum with all the creatures coming to life and it maintains that pace throughout. I know it hasn't had tthe best reviews but I think it is far better than other films out at the moment aimed at children - Eragon for one.

yes it is a great movie and appropriate for that age. take them. it might even get then asking questions afterward since there alot of historical people in the movie. use it as an opportunity to talk about Roosevelt,Genghis khan, Lewis and Clark, Columbus, Sacajawea. enjoy!!!
