More like iPod vs. Zune & Zen
Zune is a joke. Haha hear me laugh! Zune - ha . . . So people all over are buying "Zune" and I wish they wouldn't. Ever since iPods "dominated" the MP3 / Music Industry, (we-being selfish americans) had to be apart of it. Notice how every new kind of music player just came out after the updated iPod Video? People are jealous and want the fame, and $. Big surprise! The Zen has been out longer than the Zune, but still does not come even close to camparing to the iPod. Look at how many versions and updations of the iPod there are. Also, look at the company that makes iPod. Notice how a lot of people ask what the difference is between an iPod and MP3? iPod is an MP3 but because it dominated so much, it is almost it's own kind. Sure iPods have some glitches - so does everything else.

My Story:
I purchased my 1st iPod in Novmeber of 2005. I purchased a 4GB Pink Mini. It worked so well. No problems. Nothing. Then it went out of style. All I wanted for christmas is a 30GB Black iPod Video. Sure enough - I got it. I Love it so much! I take it everywhere! 124 songs - 38 TV Shows - 46 Music Videos - 12 Podcasts - 8 games.
I hope this helped you! :)

STAY AWAY FROM THE ZUNE. Unless you have a brand-spanking new computer. I got the Zune because I love Microsoft products. However, I got it home and it said how it wasnt compatable with my computer. I just got my computer in 2005...and its a really great computer...but I have Media Edition 2004 on my computer...and of course...zune isnt compatable with that! or a few other verisions. It, IS compatble with Microsoft Home Edition like 2000 I think...how screwed up is that??? I was told it would be 100 additional dollars to upgrade to Microsoft Vista...but not guaranteed to work.
I took the Zune back as quick as I bought it. I bought a 30GB Ipod...and it took minutes to download what I needed...and all my songs are on it...and there was no problems at all. The only thing you have to be careful with Ipod is...if you transfer a "corrupted file" to it...all your songs will be lost and you have to start from scratch. But I think thats not bad considering the zune was just a plain old headache right from the beginning.
The other thing is...the batteries in any MP3 player only last so long...in 18 months i have to send mine back to apple and pay them 127 dollars for a freakin battery. But I found out (through best buy..where i bought it) for 55 bucks you can go through them and when you bring it back, they just give you a new Ipod...but then you would lose your songs...I guess everything has pros and cons...but Zune definitely SUCKS.

The Zune is a joke, stay away from it.
It's WiFi transfer "feature" is limited to 3 plays or 3 days, whichever comes first and its DRM violates the Creative Commons license. The WiFi "feature" can't be used for anything else, such as wireless syncing.
It can't be used as a hard drive mass storage device, as can be done with every other player out there.
It has a bigger screen than does an iPod, however, it has the same resolution, making it look worse.
You have to buy prepaid "points" in order to buy songs from the Zune store. The Zune store does not yet have video.
It doesn't play Microsoft's own PlaysForSure files, so music purchased from Yahoo Music or any other music store won't work. The Zune Player (which you must use) only plays its own proprietary format and mp3's. Microsoft is using misleading advertising regarding iTunes conversion. They make it sound like the Zune Player will convert existing iTunes to its own format automatically...it won't. You have to burn your iTunes music to a CD, then rip that music back to your hard drive again in either Zune's format, WMA format or in the mp3 format. If you do that, however, the sound quality of your music will degrade because both Zune's format, WMA and mp3's are what's called “lossy compression”. In this case you have an already compressed file being compressed again, resulting in terrible sound quality.
The Zune is really just a Toshiba Gigabeat (Toshiba makes it for Microsoft) with WiFi, but it costs more than a Gigabeat and has limitations that the Gigabeat doesn't have.
It's extremely buggy and people have had nothing but problems installing its software.
It doesn't work with Firefox or Windows Media Player. You must use the much inferior Zune Player.
It only comes in three colors: White, Black and ummmm....errr.....Brown?
Lastly, Microsoft caved in to the music industry demands for a piece of every Zune sold because the music industry views mp3 players as theft devices, thus empowering the RIAA. (Recording Industry Artists Association)
But hey, don't take my word for it...see below:

Just say no to the Zune, either wait for Apple to update the video iPod or take a look at the Archos 604 or Creative's Zen Vision (either “M” or “W”) line instead.

Ipod nano because it is easy to carry, small in size andeasy to even understand. Can store 1000 songs, and photos. the new generation ipods even come in diff colors. you also get video ipods and they are 30gb, 60gb, or 80gb but they are too bulky.

I think that you should go for an ipod because-
1. It is small and also very handy.
2. Present in 4GB, 30GB and also 80GB.
3. It is also present in many different colors.
best of luck
