make sure that the computer isnt on mute, and then make sure that the computer volume is up or any other source of volume is up. then check to see if the speakers somehow got unplugged.

Windows is a program not a computer, scroll your mouse to the bottom right of your monitor. You should see a icon that looks like a speaker, double click it and a window will pop up. Make sure the volume is on by clicking the bar on the window and dragging it upward. If this doesn't help then make sure that your speakers power is plugged in, and also that the speaker out line is plugged in the back of your computer tower. You should have a indicator light on the speakers to show power, if this doesn't work then new speakers are needed.

First make sure they are turned on. Do they have a light that normally turns on? If not, make sure they are plugged up.

If power is not a problem..make sure they have connection to the computer....most newer pc's identify this by green to green on the plugin to the computer.

Now to the taskbar..which is the bar that is normally on the bottom of your screen and might hide itself if enabled. This is the bar with the start button. On the far right or opposite from the start button you might see a speaker..or other icons and the time. IF you dont see a speaker but see two << marks press that and then look for a speaker. If you find the speaker double click it so that "Volume Control" comes up with a bunch of volume controllers and skip the next step.

If no speaker is located click the START button and go to PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>ENTERTAINMENT and click on sound recorder.

The first controller "Volume" Make sure that bar is alteast 50% up 75% should be good. If you see microphone make sure that is Muted. (by checking mute underneath it so a check mark shows)

Make sure any other volume controllers like wave..sw synth cd player...has volume also.

Check to see if your sound works now.

the best way and the easiest way to check is to plug a set of head phones into your pc - see if the sound works

if it does then you have a problem with your speakers - you may have to replace

if not then you have to check the sound properties as mentioned above

Check the wiring to your speakers, make sure they're still plugged in.

What city are you in? If you're not in Boston, they won't work there. Either move to Boston, or get speakers for your city. If you don't live in a city, you need country speakers. HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
