I think a few people have missed the point. You can be cool after 36, but I think by 36 most people have stopped trying to ACT cool. cool and acting cool are very different things.
I stopped acting cool on a daily basis about a year or two ago now (I'm 22) I have come to accept I personally think I am very cool, but that I am generally considered un-cool. However, I have moments every now and again where someone realises my coolness, and people marvel in it, and then I say something stupid, and they stop.
I still act cool in high stress situations such as parties, and clubs when dancing is required, however I do plan to knock this on the head by the time I reach 36.

I'm 48 and given this much thought. I have come to the conclusion that "coolness" is always 10 years younger than you til you hit 40. then it goes to 15 years. So I guess the epitome of cool is 25. After 25 it really doesn't matter if your cool or not. After 25 money is the "new" cool. So if you are rich you are still cool at any age. As my proof, I present Hugh Hefner. No one is cooler, yet he's older than God. LOL

Someone who is cool is someone with self confidence, a sense of style, and charisma. These things are not taken from you at 36. So, I would say you can be cool beyond that age. If you lack these qualities, it's not too late to make an effort to get them. I respect someone for wondering this about themself. It means that you care what others think about you. That in and of itself is a good start.

It's about the age where you stop giving a darn about what people think of you. For me it happened around 30. It just occured to me that I just didn't care. I think it's called maturity. Then you get to be yourself and man, does it feel good. You's be amazed at how cool it feels to just be yourself. Resposibly, but completely you.

It takes even longer than that for some people to mature. I think a person ceases to be cool when he pulls his britches up over his ***.

People not concerned with the cares of others don't need to attempt to be cool.

Genuine "Cool" is within yourself. Cool is always relative to the group with which you are associated.

Not at all. You can still be cool, just in a different way. It's kind of hard to explain....
