Hey there,
Maybe you are getting what you paid for? :)
Opinions are like butt holes...nobody ever paid for one, everyone has one and they all stink!

Okay, thanks for more information.
You have this Recovery Partition. I have worked on HP and IBM computers that use this as a means to restore your system to a factory install. If this partition is good, you should be able to boot to it and completely wipe everything off and start from scratch.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL. This will literally wipe everything off of your computer. Any files, pictures, videos, email, license codes, install programs, etc will be completely gone. Please be sure to back-up everything.
Now to prevent this in the future. There is some good advice in here but here is my 2 cents.

And then, keep a watchful eye. Just as when you sneeze, as a symptom of getting a cold, if your computer sneezes, check it out sooner.

This is one helluva question in several parts. Do you like parlour games or something?
Your PC "... kinda locks up.." in what way? What are you doing when this happens?
You should have told us what your PC specs are. What operating system, your RAM (memory) size, the processor (if you know), or even how old your PC is.
If it locks up, open up Task Manager (Control+Shift+Esc) and look to see if any of the applications are "Not Responding" - you can then 'End Task' and (if necessary) uninstall the offending application.
If that doesn't solve the locking, then (still in Task Manager) look in the Processes section and click on the CPU column - This will sort your current processes in order of CPU usage. Anything close to 100% (other than 'System Idle Process') is hogging your resources and you will either need to uninstall the program (if possible) or install more RAM into your system.
There's no point in restoring your system every 6 months. You'd only be hiding the cracks and not addressing the real issue, which to me sounds like a resource problem.

You can run a restore command if you have windows xp , I really don't know about the others. Locally we have a computer store that will clean up a hard drive free, but that still forces you to take the system down (meaning disconnect everything) and taking the computer (box) down so they can work on it. Maybe you have one of these in your neighborhood. Good luck with it.

b/c the people who answered you the first time don't see the second post and the people who see the second post don't even know what you're talking about b/c they missed the first question. Try asking both in the same question, remember, you're dealing with millions of people here.

Because when one asks for advice or suggestions here, they are usually really saying "I've already made up my mind...tell me I'm right". Most people think it's a waste of time to reply.

i'm not a mind/ concepts specialist yet i recognize for particular that concepts under no circumstances retires. the popular age of human concepts is three hundred years and through this era it under no circumstances even is going for a nap. it really is our body that sleeps & retires not the concepts, So i imagine that's basically a era of sparkling ideas that effects through absence of well timed stimulus.

Very often in these questions there is not enough information to advise anyone ... certain major factors are missing.... and it is surprising how often it happens....
