Guppy fry when born are pretty much transparent and clear. Guppy fry start to show and apply their colors at three - four weeks. I am currently raising some guppy fry and and they're starting to show their colors (purple tails) at 24 days. They're starting to get really filthy btw. Your fry get their colors depending on geneology and genetics though, some fry dont get their color unitl they are a couple months old! No fry dont get their colors until they're a year old, unless their color is really really clear or white. Swordtail fry are born with their colors unlike guppy fry!

It varies from fish to fish I have seen them take months to color. I have one right now that is starting to color and it is only around three weeks old.
