I have seen many a race think theirs is superior to one or more races. It's an old age question.....who's better me or you.......It doesn't matter what you are wrapped in you can have the same question regarding something else. I'm better than you cause my hair is curly/straight....cause my teeth are perfect.......I have a better education.
It's all the same......prejudice is prejudice no matter how you slice it. So really now....do whites think they are better than blacks? NO they don't. If you disagree because you met one or two idiots just trust me, that's what they are.....idiots and even the whites are shaking their heads at them and wondering when they are gonna crawl back into their roach infested hole. So why do people like you want to continually ask this same tired question anyway? You just want to get a rise out of anyone and hope someone will come along and show some bigoted answer and see what kind of chaos you can muster up. To me, that makes you just as bad as the idiots.

Educated white people know that there is really no difference between white and black people. I think that some white people do believe that they are better than blacks because of the way blacks are portrayed by the media: rap artist, drug dealers, gang members & c. If I were black, I would be raising holy hell about how the media portrays blacks. They hold up the worst examples as role models, and make celebrities out of them.
I believe that this is deliberate. I believe that the media and the politicians are doing exactly the opposite of what they say. They promote hatred between people.
The do the same thing to Christians. On TV, Christians are always portrayed as intolerant, greedy and uneducated.

No, the majority of white people don't think that. Only the ignorant ones do. It's because European countries oppressed other civilizations and it just carried over to this time and place. Look at the media and such, the ideal of "beauty" is pale skin, green/blue eyes, straight blond or light brown hair. It's a sad thing too, because it affects young people who grow up wishing they could look like what society considers perfect and ideal and not loving what they look because of it. Being a non-white person, I've experience that first-hand. It's so ignorant to judge people just because of the color of their skin/hair/eyes...superficial things that are determined by a few genes that determine how much melanin is in a person's cells...think about that. When I think about it, it makes me really angry and sad that throughout history, and to this day people are oppressed or discriminated against just because of a few genes. It's something no person can choose, so why the hell do ignorant morons think the way they look makes them better than someone else?

No. In general, members of the dominant group (whether they be white people, black people, protestants, right handers, car drivers, Canadians or circus professionals) are less conscious of their group identity than members of a minority or less favoured group.
I would say that based on my personal experience white people certainly don't think they're better than everyone else, however like members of all groups some whites (and blacks, right handers etc etc) tend to make assumptions about other people based on their group - assuming black people are better athletes or Asians more educated etc - but in this regard I don't think white people are different from anyone else.
So in a word - no!
Good luck and have a very happy and prosperous 2007

I think I am better than slackers, irresponsible parents, lazy bums who don't work, those who don't apply themselves....
I do NOT think that I am better than blacks and everyone else, I honestly believe that most other white people feel the same way. In my personal experience people from other races are more prejudice than whites. Nowadays in the 21century everyone is considered equal, majority of the time when an issue of race occurs it is due to the fact that the particular race in question can not let go of the past.

Your question implies that YOU think that. That's unfortunate. If we are going to live in a truly homogenized world we need to stop recognizing that there is any difference. Sure there are a few that will always think differently regarding any issue, however as a society we need to focus on the rule and not the exception. Unfortunately too much emphasis is placed on the few exceptions and the news media sensationalizes the issues which influences and perpetuates the problem.
I am not dismissing the past I only do not want to continue to re-invent the wheel and perpetuate the quagmire that we so easily fall into.
I also agree with Carol N

Well im white and i dont think that . Eveyone is equal and the color of sumones skin really does not matter. People should stop lookin at people from the outside and look at what is on the inside,
everyone is beautiful. But why do you assume all white people think that? that is not true at all. You should judge people by individuals NOT as a group. Wow i think u are just as racist if u think all white people are like that. But SOME white people are like that but MOST are NOT!

Yes they do. But dont you feel better than me? You should I feel that I am better than you. All groups believe there is something wrong with the other. The problem isnt with one race or the other it is with us putting labels on each other, we are all stupid human beings who will never ever be perfect no matter what we do so lets all get over the little difference in our skin color or religion or anything else. We are all stuck on this planet living in our own little realities together, better we try to get along then constantly pick on each other. Maybe

No, it might seem that way because the government gives preferential treatment to minorities in the form of affirmative action and altering test requirements based on race and gender for civil and government jobs. And with ethic leaders creating divisions between races also, not only through questionable legal practices but through ethnic awards instead of american awards, and programs that further point out false racial differences it might seem so. But no, most whites seem to think people are people wherever they go.
