One of my favorite quotes (I'd forgotten) is "Abstinence is the most aberrent sexual perversion." (or something like that) (Some little old lady walked up and read it and gasped out loud when I was first copying it down. I didn't blame her - I'd gasped myself!)
I'm not sure what to think of this culture and its sexual mores. I do think we are dangerously repressed. At the same time you see it advertised to the point of ubiqitousness [sic]. However; what we see advertised is not really sex, it is devoid of any real human bonding - in fact, if one is jumping from "lover" to "lover, then one is probably FAILING to make meaningful relations.
Sexualtiy sis [whoops - typo]... "Sexuality is" one of our human pillars. It is one of the best ways a man can connect with a woman. And to think that we can toy with that with impunity is madness.
"That's the trouble, of course: we have taken sins out of God's domain, where they can be forgiven, and put them in the domain of law, where they can only be plea-bargained." - McWilliams

Of course. It is a big part of the Muslim fanatlic rage! Repression of human needs leads to revolts, wars, murders, intolerances, revenge...etc. Legalization of prostitution would go a long way to calming down men. Women as a whole do not understand the nature of men. Women with their girly-men cohorts have gotten a little too much power. Or else we are eating too much chicken-(they grow faster with estrogen supplements).

No. There's just a lot of dumb people in the world who have trouble keeping their pants zipped or their legs uncrossed that's caused the problem. Society has nothing to do with it. God is probably sorry that he created humans with the procreative instinct, since they use it indiscriminately and not for the purpose for which it was intended.

I don't think so. Society doesn't have a problem facing up to human sexuality. Look around! Our society is absolutely saturated with it.
I think the problem lies more with a complete saturation of sexuality than with a supression of it. Once you become desensitized to something, it takes something more extreme to get the same excitement the original item used to bring and so forth. People have become desensitized to normal sexuality because of overexposure and desensitization and so it takes something more extreme to excite them.

I'm pretty sure it causes problems, but maybe not kinkyness. I read a book by a psychologist that theorized what ever circumstances occur at the time of our first orgasm imprint on us for life. So, if a little boy has his first orgasm in his mother's closet surrounded by her shoes, he develops a shoe fetish, etc.
