i need a cleanser, moisturiser, toner, and foundation for my skin type. i have dry sensitive skin but i also have slight acne on the apples of my cheeks, my chin and a little on my forehead. i have dry skin mainly around my eyes and mouth. Please help. i can't find anything that doesn't make something else worse. for example something for my acne makes more dry skin and something for dry skin worsens my acne and so many products hurts my skin like hell.

Try Mary Kay. They have cleansers, moisturizers, etc. specialized for sensitive skin. All of my customers that have come to me with your problem have had good results. The key is to really discuss your skin and what you have tried in the past. I can definately help you. Plus, I guarentee all my products and offer exchanges until you get it right. I also have samples to try before you buy. Feel free to email me.

Oh no! :|
Er, I have dry skin all the time but no acne. I get spots a lot though! Er, I would say try Clearasil 3-in-1 Daily Spot control. This takes away oils from your skin that irritates that acne. Its called 3-in-1 because it helps moisturise as well. Use that once or twice a week. For after-moisturisers, use a light cream, pH7 or vitmain E cream. Don't use anything with too much parfum in them, hence why I think the Avon products did nothing. Spend some time looking around in places like The Body Shop. They have thousands of products there. Don't just pick something up from your chemist because it looks good.

If things continue to not work for you, I strongly suggest you see your doctor so that she/he can recommend something. You can't go wrong here and what will you lose? Skin problems can be quite stressful, I understand.

Best of luck!

If you have sensitive skin, try products with natural ingredirts which are less harsh.
try this moisturizer which is made of natural ingredients (14 herbs & 7 natural oils) it's called Miracle Lotion is for dry skin but I have normal skin & use it & gives a really nice glow: (free P&P in UK) I suggest not putting any cream on the spots but a treatment cream specific for acne).

AS for spots, I'd suggest a face wash or cleanser with natural anti-bacterial agents such as tea-tree; your local health shops should have a good range or try this one:

Also again for an acne treatment cream & toner ask at your local healthshops, the site above sells them but the're very expensive (but if you don't mind, type in acne in search). Choose a toner without alcohol or astrigents.

Don't use a foundation until your acne heals, becuase the oils/ingredients might make them worse or just use a medicated blemish stick lightly, if you cover too heavily it'll look bad.

Sorry couldn't be of more help.

Best thing for you is going onto avon.co.uk and ordering a catalogue from them. If you go to the skin cleansers theres a page that are doing a deal for 4 skin products for a £5. Buy the following:

clearskin invigorating cleansing scrub(wash with it twice a week, it is a facial scrub that helps buff away pore-clotting dirt, oil and dead skin cells for a clear, healthy looking complexion.)

clearskin dual action cleanser with microbeads(wash twice a day with this product. it helps remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells to keep pores clear)

clearskin clarifying cover SPF15. (use this product as you would put on foundation. this product is to be used before you go into sun)

clearskin invinsible blemish corrector (this is a small stick, when you see a new spot appearing you use this stick just to cover it up.)

All these products I strongly recomend. I had the same problem with acne and within a month all acne was gone!! I guarentee!! All the best

I'd avoid soap like the plague if you can but use a clean flannel with hot water and only moisturise the areas you need to. For very dry skin which tends to flake try clarins santal cream. It is expensive but if you are only using a little it does end up being worth it but I'd ask a cosmetic counter for a sam;ple of it first. As someone else said drinking plenty of water really does help. Not sure bout foundation though, trial and error I guess but again ask for testers before you commit to buying.

Try clinique. They have no fragrance etc so dont aggrivate skin. They are very good and will help custom fit a selection to your needs at one of their counters. OR try Avene range (French) in larger boots stores. This range is harder to get hold of (but can be bought on boots.com) but is made for acne prone sensitive skin. They do a green foaming cleanser in a bottle & toner & various moisturisers. Then try back at clinique for a foundation for combination skin which will suit both your skin probs. Try boots.com & search 'avene' and 'clinique' it will show you a lot of info on the products.

I think the best seloution is to buy a moistourising cream it has to be thick get it for dry skin apply it around your eyes and the dry places only .
get a special soap for dry skin. It will stop your skin from drying up and it won't make it greasy your dry skin maybe from using normal soap.
Drink alot of water and eat lots of vegetables .
Ask for the soap at a pharmisy.

I really do think that before you try any solutions that you should see your doctor and ask to be referred to a dermatologist.I dont think your main concern is the acne sweetie. Its the dry skin and once you tackle that you are well on your way to great skin. You may even have food allergy etc and this could be causing your skin to hurt and flare up.I suffered for many years but if you have a good doctor then go and see them.they wil help as we all like to have nice skin and the confidence to hold our heads high.Dont be ashamed.be proud to be who you are and once you're sorted then hold your head even higher and say hey!! Look at me..Im beautiful not just on the inside but on the outside too!!!
Have faith honey xx

Hi hunny, keep it simple, try nivea, contains no alcohol. Also look at any make up you use if any?which may not be helping the situation. You could possably consult a dermotologist, I did 5 years ago and i now have acne free skin and is less dry.

I've had the same problem so can sympathise. I now use dove soap and E45 cream. It's all I can tolerate on my face. My skin has cleared up a lot and isn't as dry but I haven't found a foundation I can use without my skin visibly drying and flaking... Yuk!
