Yes, I loved both the movies & the book series.
The movies differ somewhat from the novel (as is always the case), but they remain faithful to the central plot.

It was nicely done. As long as it is, it represents the book exceedingly well and is an excellent tribute to JRR Tolkien's story. Yes, it is one of my favorites.
Too bad they canned Peter Jackson before he did the prelude "The Hobbit"

Personally, I have never the movies. I have seen like 5 minute glimpses of one, but i thought it was hard to understand and follow with.

I liked it but didn´t love it!! From the three hours..I watched two and slept in an hour, lol, the other two I didn´t even care to watch them....it is really boring and tedious. Prefer the trilogy books.

No, I thought it was incredibly overrated. King Kong was a much better film. I think as an achievement in film it stands up but as anything remotely enjoyable to watch, it fails.

I thought it was visually breathtaking but story-wise and character-wise it was very poor. By character I don't mean just "Zeldor, long haired prince with pointy ears and big curved sword", I mean inner character development, something that makes one character differ from another. All characters seemed either good or bad, like cardboard cut-outs.

I love them! I tried to read the books and hated them, but the movies are great.
