You might want to print out the photos on http://www.thekrib.com/Fish/Algae-Eaters/ and take them to the fishstore with you before you buy. Many stores have algae eaters mislabeled. While a siamese algae eater is a great cleaner and a relatively peaceful tankmate, you're pretty likely to end up bringing home a chinese algae eater, which isn't such a great cleaner, can grow as large as 6"-12", and will start attacking other fish when it gets big enough.

The biggest differences are in the stripes, so really pay attention to those.

Nope they are 2 different types of fish. The flying fox is less likely to eat algae, but thy will eat they same sorts of stuff a cory cat will. Note that the adults will fight other flying foxes.

Regarding them and corys. They do not do do the same thing as corys. Corys are typically bottom feeders that like to live in small schools (usually around five) and generally do not eat algae. SAE's on the other hand tend to keep to themselves and mainly eat algae.

The two species will live together fine. I have not had any problems with them fighting or anything like that.

They are not the same thing. My pet stores will say that they are the same but that is wrong. Here is a page about them.
