When George says he's going to slip his boss a "mickey" Jerry says to George, "Who are you? Peter Lory?" I'm not sure of the spelling of Lory. Anyway, who is Peter Lory?

It's Peter Lorre, an excellent character actor of the 30s-60s. (Died in 1964, though his biggest successes were probably in the 30s/40s.) He tended to play sinister characters. He was in Casablanca, which is probably the "mickey" reference source-- that or "Maltese Falcon." Read more about him at Internet Movie Database or Wikipedia

I wrote at first that he played Igor in Frankenstein but a check of IMDB revealed that he didn't play that role-- and the assistant was actually called Fritz in the original. Ygor was played by Bela Lugosi in Son of Frankenstein, but people (me included) still think of Lorre.

Peter Lorre is a great character actor from the 40's. I think his best scene is in the Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart. He made his chops playing tough guys, then had a big comeback when he played Igor in Frankenstein. With his characteristic face and distinctive voice, you can always pick him out in a scene.
