Depending on the size it could be as simple as a small clot which has shed from the uterus (womb) wall and is quite normal. If your bleed is always heavy you could have a chat with you GP (female if preferred) to rule out endometreosis or poly cystic ovary disease which can both cause heavy bleeding, in all likelihood it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Lucie. Before a perioud you will have a MUCUS PLUG inside the os of the cervix. If you become pregnant this stays there in order to help keep infection out and thus protect the baby. When you have a period you will sometimes notice this mucus leaving the body during your period (it can come out in one or many clots) this doesnt always happen but sounds as if it does to you. Absolutly nothing to worry about.

Not exactly sure what you mean, do you get generally lumpy skin all over or lumps in specific points on your body which are the same every month.
If it's the second one then it is quite common for your lymph nodes to become enlarged before and during your period. If you're worried go and see your doctor.
Okay I just got what you mean, that's just blood clots.

They're quite normal i think, blood clot type things and bits of tissue from the womb lining. I normally get some small ones at the start of my period.
If your worried you should ask your doctor though.

If they are no larger than a dime, no worries. Its probably lining of your uterus. If they are any bigger, contact your doctor or OBGYN. Its a health risk not to, even though it may be embarrassing, to tell someone.
If you mean on your skin, ask a doctor aswell. This could be anything. Not something easy to identify online.

Clotting whilst on your period is quite normal, as long as they are ni bigger that a 50p peice-about 2.5cm in diameter.
Any bigger and you should really see a doctor, especially if your periods are quite painful.
Either way don't panic.

Sounds like blood clots. Nothing to worry about. I had them when I first started. Don't get them anymore. Just keep your iron levels up.

Quite normal but if you are worried go and see your GP or practise nurse and take a sample of your sanitary towel with you.
