Ancient Greece and Rome ARE today's society. Greece heavily influenced Rome, which conquered Europe, which colonized the planet.

Try thinking big, there are a lot of things that we take for granted when considering society. Cleanliness through baths, formal uniformed armies broken into groups by job, a generally square/rectangular house with a slanted roof.

Ancient Rome and Greece had many different influences in todays society. The Greeks developed the first Senate based platform which influenced the government. If you wanted to tie in religion and war you could focus on the fact that the Romans began wars over religion (Crusades), which still technically continues today. Some argue that our war in the Middle East is not only over politics, but we are fighting against the Muslims over religious purposes because of our ties with Israel and our interference which led up to the Six Days War. Fot Philosophy, all the Ancient Philosphers devel;oped in those areas which influnce our people today. Aristotle taught and wrote many things on the necessity of morality. If you would like any info on this stuff I can send you some papers you can look over but they are all stored in my documents and not on any website. This may give you a start.

Oh dear it lives on a daily lifes!!
sports: olympics..
philosophy: basically all our democratic system with senators, army, laws, way of thinking its thanks to aristoteles, our beliefs and religions, how to build a society, how power should be administrated..
architecutre: mainly rome had a lot to do on it, they made aqueducts, bridges, the firsts road surfaces that could resist rain, they planed houses, buildings and cities well organised.
also important contributions it was the theater and the performing arts, literature (comedy and tragedy), the alphabet, the begginings of medicine (sepparation of superstition from science), arithmetic, the begginings of what today could be schools and universities..etc

Society lacks passion and society lacks perspective. Many people toil away at shitty jobs all day, not stopping for a second to consider that something better may be out there.

You can start with philosophy and government; that's how the ancients have influenced us. Their ideas about life, law, and government have survived thousands of years.
