Why are people so obsessed with getting lighter skin now? If you used to have light skin than your skin will go back to its original color during the course of winter.

Living in different geographical areas with different climates usually changes skintone. If you want to have the skin you used to have, you could move back to your original location. An easier way would be to use sunblock--SPF 30 or higher. There is also a cream used in India and can be found in Indian stores called "Fair and Lovely".

Stay out of the sun. Unless you are taking medication that effects melatonin (I believe) your skin color.

Wear long sleeves and wear sun block.

Sorry to burst your bubble but if you now have dark-skin that is your normal skin color, unless you have been spending time on a tanning bed.
