Yes, my husband of 33 years and I fell for one another at first sight. It was a strange feeling of 'finding' someone, of feeling completely comfortable with them (even though we came from different cultures and spoke very little of each other's language!) Now I've seen that in writing, it amazes even me! I thaought it happened to everyone back then, but now of course we know how lucky and blessed we were and are. I think it's worth living the experience even if it ends in tears, but I hope it happens to you one day...and that it lasts forever!

There is something about all people that cannot be seen through eyes, which makes it very difficult to realise that the doors of possibilities of love have opened. We can fall in love with people at first sight within a fraction of second. The facts are that we perceive more things about people than we realise; our perception reaches faster than our thoughts. When we see someone who we never saw before, something inside us either switches on or off without us even ever noticing this happen. We might fall in love or keep falling in love time and time again without even knowing that this is happening. The actual thing starts when we take first step after first sight and try to realise what we most subtly just feel at first; after that future incidents and circumstances play important role in the further realisation of emotions that we otherwise tend to suppress or deny – after all loving means a world to us.
The sings of mutual likings can be visible to a seeing eye. There can be for example, clear body signs observable and expressive of what people subconscious feel about each other. When people naturally make an eye contact showing they take special notice, prolonged eye contact can be a show of affection, or pass a smile may signify openness; but you got to be careful. You When people on the other hand fold their arms on their chest meaning that they are close to us. The very smart and highly perceptive mind inside makes impulsive decisions that are not usually affected by our rational thoughts. We fall in love with people sometimes without a reason quite inadvertently. This is how it happens most of the time, and this is how I can happen anytime.

Sometimes, when you meet somebody, all logic and reasoning goes out of the window and you know in your heart you want to be with that person. There is no thought process. Your heart completely rules your head. I can honestly say I have loved my husband since the first day I met him on my doorstep 5 years ago.

Hmmm. Good question.
I think love is something that is built up over a certain amount of time.
I think lust at first sight is different but possible.
Think people reading this now, do you have a gf or wife, now think of 3 things you love about them?
But with people you have just seen, all you know about them is what they look like. So how can it be love? Unless it is only based on looks?
So lust yes, love no.
My opinion, thanks:D

Yes, I do! When I moved into a flat I saw this sexy guy and I thought "oe la la"! Then after I met him the first time, I wrote in my diary that I'll be married to him in the next year or two. After a year and a half we got married and now we have a baby and will be married 4 years!

Well, having met my current partner in Gothenburg in Sweden and not on the Internet I can honestly say I don't believe in love at first site. Love at first sight - yes. And love at first sound. She said "Tak" (which means thanks in Swedish) when I held a shop door open for her. The sound of her voice sent shivers up and down my spine - and still does. Even so, she was the one that asked me for a date! I can't define love for you other than to say it makes me feel happier than I've ever been.

I agree with lust at first sight. Love at first sight, not really; true love is something which grows over a period of time, but the trueness of the love might be quite obvious from an early stage.

I think it does happen. It may even have happened to me I just didn't recognise the feeling at first...However the love grew from a casual friendship, closer friendship and then as lovers.... circumstances have pulled us apart but I still think of him a high proportion of each day and look forward to the times we can be together. I may have to wait years but I am sure we will be together one day.

Love at first sight does not exists. Infatuation at first sight does. I do believe in love but what people do not realise it that love is not a feeling you cant fall in and out of love like a yo-yo. love is an expression and manifestation of what is in your heart and it can be very difficultly to figure out if your in love or in your just infatuated.
