Is Yoshitsune Minamoto real?

I played this PS2 game called Genji: Dawn of the Samurai, and looked it up in Wikipedia. I looked up Minamoto no Yoshitsune and I saw him in Japanese art. Can you tell me if he was real or just a myth?

Yes he was a real Sumarai. That has written several books ....................
