Many palms are native to Florida: Saw Palmetto, Serenoa repens; Cabbage Palm, Sabal palmetto; Coconut Palm, Cocos nucifera; Paurotis Palm, Acoelorrhaphe wrightii; Florida Royal Palm, Roystonea elata; Needle Palm, Rhapidophyllum hystrix; and others. It is perfectly absurd to say that palms are not ecofriendly. Palms are found in all tropical and semitropical regions of the world.

some species are native to florida one is the cabbage palm. But they are known to break the wind around a house in a hurricane as the wind goes through the fronds. Also they are beautiful. I never heard that they weren't ecofriendly.

Pine trees and palmetto bushes! That's all you see in Florida woods. I like hardwood forests much better. Florida is really ugly in my opinion. I lived there for 18 years. The Appalachian Mountains are much more scenic than anything in Florida.

Very little palms are native to Florida, or for that matter anywhere in the United States. Thats why they need special treatment in florida, such as fertilizer and special soil. Here in California they grow kind of like weeds, must be the mediteranean climate.

The Spanish brought them to Florida. Never heard about their being eco-unfriendly. I like them, and I have seen birds and reptiles living in them.
