Supposabley if you eat pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day you'll have a good year. Does anyone else do this? I've been doing it every year for as long as I can remember, we all gather at my Grandma's house and everyone compares hangovers and talks about the night before over pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Even the little kids have to taste it.


I'm curious if anyone else does this...

Yes. My uncle & were just discussing this in the morning. I had pork in the freezer which I am defrosting now. It's supposed to be good luck. After last year, we could use some. Happy New Year!

First time I've heard of it, but it sounds pretty good. I like sauerkraut.

In the south it is black eyed peas and greens. I just had mine.
