In a cage fight? Thor's mobility is cut down since there isn't much room for him to fly in (assuming the cage is closed topped). This goes to Captain America for two reasons.
First: Cap is probably the greatest hand to hand combatant in the Marvel U, bar none. He has the experience and skill to take down even an Asgardian god; since he has fought with, trained and went into battle alongside just about every conceivable super-being. He knows how to deal with high powered threats like Thor.
Second: Let's not forget that Steve Rogers is capable of wielding Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer). The enchantment on it only allows those worthy of the power of Thor to wield it and has recognized Captain America as such a person. So if Thor becomes separated from his hammer, Cap can use it (where as someone else most likely would not be able to).

Captain America is resourceful, but a god versus a man lol. Lets just say the cage wouldn't survive, but Thor would definitely win. I mean if Thor just gets one punch in to the captain he's breaking something.

Well if there is no weapons Captain America might have a chance as he is the better fighter (does not rely on strenght but rather skill). Could put Thor in a choke hold.
But pending that Thor would be the winner as he is stronger and as other people noted he is a god.

If Thor starts out fighting without using his hammer then he would win. If he brought his hammer out then Captain America could take it from him and defeat him. Remember when Thor was in trouble in a battle without his hammer and Cap picked it up and threw it to him so he could win? Cap is worthy enough to use the hammer. If it transformed him he could beat Thor because, even if he only had one fourth of Thor's strength, he is a more skilled fighter.

it's an unfair question due to Captain America being a ww2 govt created mutant (yes he;s a mutant due to the super soldier serum injected into him in ww2 and his origin mutant hating idiots of comics need to shut up about this and go read some of his origin and quit saying he's not a mutant) and Thor being a Norse God
I'd have to give it to Thor though due to the fact that he is a God, has a hammer, and can call upon lightning to fry and melt cap's shield
cage match or not though it would be interesting to see but I'd rather see Prototype of Ultraverse Comics go into a cage match against Iron Man with the winner being named "King of All Armored Heros"

A cloned version of Thor made his appearance in Civil Wars and killed Goliath in seconds, and had the resistance scurrying back to their holes in seconds for fear of their lives, including a savagely beaten captain america courtesy of Iron Man. Funny question, obvious answer.

well i think it's closer than people think. Cap is ALOT more agile (i'm thinking along the lines of Hector "macho" Camacho vs "Iron" Mike Tyson yeah if Tyson hits him he's down but Camacho is going to hit him like 90 times before he even gets a swing close) However IF/WHEN Thor hits him he's done!!
my count Thor and cap go to the 2nd round when thor cracks him w a shot of lightning then forgiddaboutit

I think it would be a very close fight. Personally I would have to go with Captain America.
