played on it recently and wow gaming has arrived. It makes X box and PS seem 20 years old. Good thing is the Wii will make those two excel now.
What does everyone think?
only answer if you've played on Wii AND one of the old formats like X box or PS - bless em!

It's awesome I know - to be honest I get bored of my PS games quite quick - cos i cant be bothered to carry on a career or whatever - thats why I love the Wii cos it's so easy to just play Wii sports etc.....and it's a good laugh when you've got people round, but...............

It doesn't make the PS3/Xbox seem old 'cos they compete on a different playing field to the Wii. PS3 and Xbox are going for great graphics, memory and state of the art technology etc. Whereas Nintendo knows it wont win on those aspects so has gone completely different - which everyone seems to love just as much! If you can afford to - get a Wii and a PS3/Xbox and have the best of both!!!

The Wii is a whole lot of fun, had mine since launch. Some games aren't really as fun anymore after my 80 hours with the thing. I'm really pleased with titles like Trauma Center and Rayman Raving Rabbids but I'm a bit disappointed on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for not using the Wii remote for accurate sword slices (its more like a glorified button).

Regardless, Wii Sports is still a blast with a large group of people. Just make sure when dealing with "non-gamers" that they strap on the remote pretty tight. While it isn't a problem with most people, non-gamers (aka old people) may get too excited and not hold the Wii remote the proper way. That's how my delicate Wii remote got smacked against the wall. It still works fine, just a heads up.

I find the Wii really excellent for 'party nights'. My son and his friends can all play with it, and every game is really accessible. PS and Xbox have a lot of 'involved' games that require a learning curve that is nowhere nearly as 'pick-up-and-play'.

The Wii is fun to play and the only the older folks have shown any interest in.
I don't want my consoles to play DVD's, that's what my DVD player is for it's not as if DVD players are expensive.

I think the lack of graphical power and the fact that it can't play DVD's and how it is yet to go online is it's downfall.

The Wiimote sure is fun though!
