This may be a fuel filter. If, it a Chevy Engine you may want to check the Electronics in the Distributor; Coil, Pickup Coil and Electronic Module. The Coil and Pickup Coil can be checked with an Ohm Meter the Electronic Module many parts stores can check. My experience with Chevy is the pickup coil, this inside the Distributor Cap and you have to remove the Distributor to remove and replace. Buy you a Auto Repair Manual at Auto-Zone or any Parts store. It not have to be for a Boat. Get one the the same year and have the same engine as your Boat they cost about $15 and it tell everything you need to know to check what I mentioned.

Gas engines need Gas and Spark. One or the other is going away for the engine to stop.
That said. Are you sure the its getting fuel, i.e., seethru filter, looking down the carb to see if fuel is going into engine.
Do you have a spark sensor, there real cheap, look like a pen?
How long does it run when it starts?
Is the carb choke butterfly closed or open all the way?
Does it have points and condensor or electronic ignition?
Hope this helps.

Did you winterize the engine? Try adding a bottle of Dri-Gas to the gas tank and leave it sit for a couple of hours before trying to run the boat. Make sure that you keep the idle up until the engine warms up, assuming from your question that it actually starts and then dies right now. I'm also assuming that you're running water into the intake too so you don't crack your block...
If it turns over but won't start, spray some carb cleaner/ether in the carb while someone cranks it over.

In a individual undertaking, confident, if somebody is dumb adequate to purchase a lemon for that lots, it incredibly is greater their fault than the sellers fault. they could in simple terms pass purchase a lemon for much less someplace else. even nonetheless, in maximum places i think there are regulations approximately how lots they are able to fee for products in shops and whatnot. If all lemons without warning fee a hundred dollars for no reason, it does no longer be ok.
