of course a basketball player .//.as all football players (American football) are overweight like 300 pounds as tackles .///
basketball players have to be in shape as they have to be agile and quick.

Basketball players because they work out year around. Footballs players work out in the season and go to the gym every once in while. Basketball players have more time to stay in shape and work with the team trainer because there are not as many people on a basketball team as a football team.

.dont listen to these other people if they played both sports theyd know..
Football players, they sprint the whole game ,but basketball players kinda just jog most of the time except sparingly on a fast break. I played both sports and football you basically just run RUN and more run. even the big guys just push 300 pound guys around for about 3 hours.(and for people who think that fat guys are out of shape try telling the world strongest men they are out of shape, just because your physically large its your jeans, all those guys are on treadmills everyday morons) but basketball you kind just work on your aim.
Football is once a week theres a reason for that. If they played every other day they would literally die.
Also look at football players they all are huge even the 5 foot 6 guys...one arm could pick up a small car, whereas you rarely find a really muscular guy in the nba.

It depends on which position you play in football. The running backs, tight ends, wide receivers, linebackers and cornerbacks and safteys have to have size, speed and strength as well as endurance.
Quarterbacks don't move too much, they're kind of like pitchers.
Offensive and defensive linemen just rely mostly on strength and technique.
Basketball players, except Shaq, have to run the whole game, especially if your team plays a fastbreak style, look at the kind of shape Steve Nash and Gilbert Arenas are in. Also, basketball is no longer a finesse game, it takes strength down low to deal with the likes of Ben Wallace and Dwight Howard as well as Shaq.
The only reason I would go with basketball players is because they play every other game for 82 games, then a long playoffs, with really no off season if you factor in summer leagues and international play, especially for foreign players.

Well I have never played football for a team so I wouldn't know but I would think different parts of there body are in better shape than the other. You would need different muscles for basketball then you would for football. I guess I just don't think there is a real answer to that debate

Basketball definetley, in football u play one play for about 6 seconds then rest for 30 seconds before going again. And most either play offense or defense, not both, and basketball players are on the court the whole time, offense and defense nonstop excpet during timeouts

depends...the average basketball player is in much better shape than the average football player, but that is only because certain positions on the football field (linemen) demand big huge guys....as far as skill players (receivers, runningbacks, some tightend, defensive backs) vs. Basketball players, Id say they are pretty even

basketball player. granted it is two completely different sports. football players are stronger and tougher but cardio wise its hands down basketball players. i think they have more stamina. plus if u look at all the players as a whole, the arent any 400 pound basketball players in the nba
