If it is true "hard cider," you CAN get drunk on it. Apple cider which has fermented from being open too long/too warm/not sealed is generally NOT that alcoholic, it's just "gone bad."
Apple cider in other countries is the alcoholic version, which has a higher alcohol level than most beers. The US version of apple cider is NOT alcoholic (obviously) but rather spicy apple juice, however, the US DOES sell "hard cider" which is alcoholic.

yes you definitely can...
although I agree that just letting it ferment does not taste very good - if you know any home brewers they can experiment with the cider or buy some of the hard cider brands - I highly recommend the english ones as the american ones are way too sweet...

You would have been a great "chemist" back in the days of the famous making of moonshine. Alcohol was once outlawed and ppl searched for ways around this law and made moonshine. I am sure your not the first to think of apple cider! Have fun with this! Peace!

Alcohol is the result of certain levels and kinds of fermintation. Apple cider is fermented, but not to the point of being alcohol.

Now fresh apple juice not store bought or processed can be fermented and the result is called Apple Jack and depending on who makes it can be mild to knocks your socks off strong

I guess if it ferments then yes you can. but I don't think it would tasts to great if it wasn't done by a professional.

well i can get drunk on eggnog, so i guess apple cider u could get drunk on also...its the apple sugar rush
